Tim Coleman founded his Closet Organization company in 1988 and ran his business for nearly 30 years.   He sold his successful company in 2017 and was asked by that buyer to stay on to run the closet division, which he did for 3 years.  In October of 2020 Tim was delighted to take the helm of SCE Unlimited in the Chicagoland area, which is owned by Installed Building Products, a publicly traded $3 billion company.  In four years, Tim took SCE Unlimited, which offers Wire & Solid Closet Systems; Shower Doors & Mirrors; Bathroom Hardware; and Window Blinds & Shades, from $900,000 to over $4 million in annual revenue.

Tim has run the business gamut from being a one-man shop to working with a team of over 50 employees.  He was a Hunter Douglas Blinds, Shades, and Shutter dealer for 14 years.  Tim has worked with production builders, commercial developments, custom builders, and homeowners.  Tim’s mantra is “None of Us is as Smart as All of Us”.  He believes that sharing knowledge and being consistently curious and eager to learn new information is the only way people evolve and grow, and he endeavors daily to do both.

In April of 2025 Tim transitioned out of SCE Unlimited and founded Coleman Collaborations Consulting Group, a business collective that offers help to small business owners and managers to understand how they can improve the way they run and grow their businesses.

Tim writes the Front Office column for Closets & Organized Storage Magazine and is a national keynote speaker at several annual conferences and conventions, where he also offers a variety of business classes. Tim also offers one-on-one consulting via Zoom and collaborates in-person with individuals and businesses.  

Tim is a consummate collaborator, an avid reader, and enthusiastic “foodie”, devoted OBX fan, and loves to travel with his wife, Shela, a Certified Life Coach, filmmaker, writer, and speaker.
